This tea infuser is definitely attractive! When I saw it on Amazon, I was afraid that it was cheaply made or that it wasn’t as attractive as it seemed. I can see now that I was worried for nothing. 🙂
There are three pieces, including the lid. There is a stainless steel infuser that sits inside, a lid and the tumbler, itself. The tumbler and the lid are the only components with bamboo and the stainless steel is all stainless steel.
The inside of the tumbler is stainless steel, also. It looks great, clean and smooth. It is lightweight and, even with the added bamboo exterior, the tumbler is lighter than most that are plastic or just as light as glass ones.
The stainless steel infuser is light and snaps into the tumbler pretty easily. There is also a little handle that is used to remove it. Of course, you will want to fold this down when the lid is on.
The bamboo linings don’t stick out and all of the edges are seemless.
There is no space between the lid and the tumbler. As far as I can tell, it is leak-proof (as claimed in the description on Amazon). I also didn’t see an seals inside the lid, which usually make it so. This is good for those of us that hate having to remove them to clean teaware.
Overall, I really liked it! It’s an attention grabber, for sure. But, the bamboo isn’t purely aesthetic. When the tea is steeping and the water is at it’s hottest, the bamboo will keep you from burning your fingers. This will make it easier for you to steep on the go. While I really like this tumbler, I think that how you steep will determine it’s value to you. I prefer to control my steep times, I am not fond of oversteeped teas. However, some people like to steep their teas and keep them going a bit (usually people who like greener and lighter teas). If you like a controlled steep, this might not be as great for steeping while out and about. Placing the tea on the infuser, instead of inside the tumbler would mean that you need a place to sit it while you are drinking and done steeping. The lid makes a nice seat, but you would still have a hard time carrying everything if you are moving around.
