A lot of people with IBS have problems with their skin and hair. It can be especially problematic after a flare. So, here are the items in my bathroom that I absolutely have to have:
OGX Coconut Milk Serum and Coconut Water Oil. These are items I use after I have washed my hair. I spray in the oil, all over my hair and coat the ends with the serum. It helps condition my hair through the day, keeps my hair from frizzing and keeps my ends healthy. Also, I have very long hair and it makes my hair dry a little faster. I’m not a fan of hair dryers, so that’s a bonus for me!
Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser. I use this everytime I wash my face. It makes my face feel clean and after a flare, that can be great. It can dry out my face a bit, but keep reading and you’ll see how I take care of that. It really isn’t a problem.
Nivea Care and Coconut. This is a really great body wash. I like it because it doesn’t leave a film, doesn’t try my skin and I only need a little bit to go a long way!
OGX Coconut Water Shampoo and Conditioner. I have used these for years and haven never thought of trying anything else. The only time I don’t use them is if they aren’t available and I use OGX Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner, instead. They both clean and condition MUCH better than any other shampoos and conditioners without weighing down. These two with the Coconut Milk serum and the Coconut Water oil leave me feeling confident about the health of my hair.
Korean Wash Cloth. I have been using these since I was a child. Literally. This is something I can never do without. I have been in hotels without one a few times and hated myself for it, every time. This goes perfectly with the Nivea Body Wash. It is a bit harsh at first but, after you get used to it, it will become essential. Everyone I have recommended it to has loved it! It’s especially great if you have dry skin (but remember, it can be rough) or are extra dirty. Sometimes during a flare I sweat or mighty not be able to take a shower as often as I like. This easily makes up for it! If you are thinking to try it, I would try it as soon as possible. That way if your skin is a bit sensitive during or after a flare, it will be used to it and it will be less irritating.
Crest Baking Soda and Peroxide Whitening Toothpaste. This is the only toothpaste I have ever used that I actually liked. It was the only one that made my teeth FEEL cleaner and that means a lot to me. When I have a flare, I vomit. So, I brush my teeth a lot and having them feel clean at the end of every brush is important to me.
These items can be found at Target, Walmart, CVS or Walgreens (except the wash cloth, which would be found online or at a Korean store). I hope they can help you and I hope you love them as much as I do!!
